The three aspects - Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) - make up a set of standards used by companies and customers to measure a company’s long-term impact on the environment and society. In Hospitality and Tourism businesses, we face choices which will impact on the environment, we make decisions on supporting a local heritage cause and institutionalizing community volunteer work, and we are responsible for investment decisions, compliance, diversity, inclusion, and transparency.
This executive course offers three modules: (1) Caring for Environment, (2) Creating Positive Impact on Society, and (3) Upholding Good Governance. Each module focuses on one aspect of ESG and together they provide a complete picture of the concepts.
Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to articulate ESG concepts and relate them to Hospitality and Tourism businesses. Participants will be able to identify ESG data source, analyze risks and opportunities. evaluate cost and benefit, and recommend responsible actions for their companies.
Each module is four hours in duration, 9am - 1pm. All modules will be taught in-person at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
